Yesterday, September 12th, the port of Riga was visited by the CEEC-China Secretariat on Logistic Cooperation of the 16+1 format (“16+1”) delegation of responsible contact persons. Representatives of member countries were familiarised with the activities of the Freeport of Riga, its infrastructure possibilities, offered services and development plans. Guests visited the Freeport of Riga Authority Vessel Traffic Service Centre to became acquainted with its activities and modern technology for vessel traffic management and port operations.

The visit of the 16+1 Secretariat on Logistic Cooperation delegation to the port of Riga was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport of Latvia, the institution coordinating the field of logistics. The delegation will visit the ports of Ventspils and Liepāja as well. By organising visits of the 16+1 Secretariat on Logistic Cooperation delegation to Latvian ports, the opportunities offered by the 16+1 format are used to a greater extent, as well as implementing one of the goals of the Secretariat on Logistic Cooperation: popularisation of opportunities in the Latvian transport and logistics sector in all 16+1 countries and development of new cooperation projects among member countries.
