On the September 2, 2009 Freeport of Riga for the first time welcomed cruise ship Costa Luminosa owned and operated by Italian company "Costa Crociere". Costa Luminosa entered service in early May 2009. The ship’s lengths is 293m and gross tonnage – 93 000. During the visit in Riga there were 2388 passengers onboard the ship.
