During the first nine months of the current year 19,486 MLN tons of cargoes were handled, which is by 6,6% more than during respective period of the last year, when the Freeport handled 18,277 MLN tons.
This year 12,042 MLN tons of bulk cargoes were handled, reaching 13,4% increase if compared to first nine months of 2005, when 10,852 MLN tons were handled.
3,671 MLN tons of liquid cargoes were handled, which is by 41,1% more than within the first nine months of the last year, when 2,601 MLN tons were handled.
During this period the Freeport handled 3,774 MLN tons of general cargoes, which is by 21,8% less than during last year’s respective period, when 4,824 MLN tons were handled.
During the first eight months of the current year 198 743 passengers were serviced in the Freeport of Riga, which is by 8,1% more than last year, when 183 909 passengers were serviced. Of those, 76 895 persons were cruise passengers.
