During the first seven months of the current year the Freeport of Riga has handled 14,306 MLN tons of cargoes, which is by 2,7% more than during respective period of the last year, when the port handled 13,928 MLN tons.
This year the Freeport handled 8,398 MLN tons of bulk cargoes, reaching 15,5% raise comparing to the first seven months of 2004.
The handled amount of general and liquid cargoes has decreased within the first seven months.
3,797 MLN tons of general cargoes were handled, which is by 5,2% less than within respective period of the last year when 4,003 MLN tons were handled.
The turnover of liquid cargoes in the Freeport has decreased by 20,4% until 2,111 MLN tons.
During the first seven months of the current year 121 257 passengers were serviced in the Freeport of Riga, which is by 23,1% less than last year. Of those, 48 808 persons were cruise passengers, the number of which has decreased by 46,7%.
