All preparatory works are concluded for Riga to become regional logistical centre for maritime cargo transhipments.


Characterising benefits from international conference "The Role of the Freeport of Riga in Creation of the New European Logistics Platform" held in Riga Mr.Loginovs pointed out significant information exchange and that successful base was established for further development.

As one of the largest perspectives for future Loginovs mentioned possible cooperation of the Freeport of Riga with the ports of France and Spain regarding cargo transhipments to the capital of Latvia without reloading.

Russia is also interested in this cooperation. The Mayor of Moscow Mr.Luzkov has already given an assignment to carry out analysis of economic situation and possible gains.
