During the first four months of the current year 7,8 MLN tons of cargoes were handled at the Freeport of Riga, which is by 3,1% more than within the respective period of the last year, when 7,6 MLN tons were handled.
The largest part of the cargoes handled was the bulk cargoes – 4,3 MLN tons of these cargoes were handled at the Freeport, which is by 14% more than last year, then 3,7 MLN tons of bulk cargoes were handled.
During the first four months of the current year by 7,1% reduced the turnover of liquid cargoes, reaching 1,4 MLN tons.
Decreased has also the turnover of general cargoes. The decrease was by 9,4% up to 2,1 MLN tons. During the respective period of the last year 2,3 MLN tons of these cargoes were handled.
700 cruise passengers were serviced in the Freeport within the first four months, which is less than during last year’s respective period, when 33 014 cruise passengers were serviced.
The total number of passengers comparing to respective period of the last year has decreased by 56,6% up to 28 895 passengers.
