The participants of the "Cutty Sark" regatta are welcomed by playing anthem and raising the flag

Today begins welcoming of the "Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races 2003" regatta’ participants. Each ship and yacht is welcomed at the entrance of Andrejosta bay by playing national anthem and raising the flag of the respective country. The Freeport of Riga Authority is organizing the welcoming of the regatta’ participants. The welcome will last 20 hours. Therefore the brass band playing the anthems is complemented from almost all brand bands of Latvia so the musicians are able to take some rest. The orchestra is led by the bandmaster Janis Purvins.
