The cargo turnover during 2002 in the Freeport of Riga has increased by 21,7% compared to 2001

Total cargo turnover during 2002 in the Freeport of Riga reached 18,1 mln tons, which is by 21,7% more than during 2001. The Freeport of Riga has reached the highest cargo turnover during existence of the Riga Port. If compared to indicators of 2001, the liquid bulk cargoes handled in the Freeport are showing the sharpest increase. Last year 5,3 mln tons of liquid bulk cargoes are handled, which is by 46,8% more than during 2001.
