Navigation in the Port of Riga is organized in compliance with the “Freeport of Riga Regulations”, which are developed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia and the European Union, as well as on the basis of laws and regulations and recommendations of international organizations.
In Annex No. 2 to the Freeport of Riga Regulations, the Harbor Master has determined the maximum permissible values of vessel particulars (draught, length and breadth) on the port fairways and at berths. The document also indicates the specialization of berths, in compliance with the territorial development planning documents and environmental protection requirements.
