Ghetto Games Sustainability Awards

The International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) brings together more than 160 ports and 120 port-related companies from 87 countries around the world.

The IAPH has set up a special World Ports Sustainability Program with the aim to promote internationally good practice in the world ports’ progress towards sustainability, innovation, port modernization, safe and green courses and social responsibility, as well as to share those practices.

Every year members of the association submit their projects in six IAPH Sustainability Awards categories - Digitalisation, Infrastructure, Health Safety and Security, Environmental Care, Community Building, Climate and Energy.

This year, the Freeport of Riga Authority has submitted its application for the IAPH Sustainability Awards 2022 in the project category “Community Building”, presenting its project “Ghetto Games Street Sports and Culture Movement” related to the FPRA's long-term cooperation with the street sports and cultural movement “Ghetto Games” with the aim to promote the development of street sports and an inclusive society.

According to an independent jury (70% of the total evaluation), the project submitted by the Authority has been shortlisted, and as of today, the evaluation of the projects has been put to a public vote (30% of the total evaluation). The vote will continue till April 18, 2022.
