Within the framework of the Riga port infrastructure modernization, the existing spotlights at the railway station “Kundziņsala” have been replaced with new LED type spotlights. Within the framework of the project, a new energy-efficient lighting solution has been iimplemented, with the aim to improve the quality of lighting at the railway park “Kundziņsala”, ensure savings in electricity consumption in the amount of 30% - 35% and reduce CO2 emissions. In 2020, the Freeport of Riga Authority approved a decision on a gradual transition to LED-type lighting at the port infrastructure facilities in order to provide clients of the Port of Riga with modern infrastructure, promote the development of sustainable infrastructure and foster the achievement of climate change mitigation goals.
