Applying modern technology and high quality standards, the shipbuilding company “Latitude Yachts” is currently developing three new projects, including building of the world's first all-electric motor yacht made of innovative composite material.

The electric yacht is about 18 m long and is equipped with two 400 kW electric motors, providing a maximum speed of 34 knots or about 63 km/h. The motor yacht is made of an extremely light composite material, which makes the boat 40% lighter and more durable compared to similarly sized polyester laminate hulls, minimizing energy losses during yacht operation.

“It can be called “A Tesla on water”. There are similar hybrid projects in the world, but we are one of the first to work on such a fully electric motor yacht,” said Roberts Trautmanis,“ Latitude Yachts” project manager.

With the aim to successfully implement the project, various specialists are involved, including shipbuilding engineers, designers, mechanics, constructors, carpenters and other experienced Latvian shipbuilding specialists. It is planned to present the electric yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show in the autumn, where more than 100 unique super yachts from all over the world are presented every year.

At the berth, located in the company's territory, work is underway on the "floating island" – the vessel which technically meets the ship's specifications, but practically operates as a floating recreation and entertainment venue. The vessel consists of three aluminum hulls connected by a large platform with two bars, a swimming pool, a restaurant and a sun terrace that can be converted into a dance floor. After the project completion, it is planned to anchor the vessel in one of the French coastal bays.

“Such floating entertainment islands are a relatively new concept in the world, so it is especially positive that although the project is still under development, there have been several clients interested in building similar floating craft right here - in the port of Riga,” added Kaspars Veidemanis, “Latitude Yachts” project manager.

At the request of a Danish company, the construction of an approximately 32 m long fishing trawler hull is being implemented at the “Latitude Yachts” production facility in Sarkandaugava. The parts of the hull are being welded together in the company's workshop, and then a whole hull shall be assembled on the stapel.

“Latitude Yachts“ currently employs around 130 people and specializes in ship and yacht construction. The company offers its clients a full range of shipbuilding services, including design, production and equipment, as well as floating craft repair, modernization and service.
