MSC INGRID – the largest container ship in the history of the port (length -294.06 m, beam -32.25 m, capacity - 53 208 GT) - has been handled in the Port of Riga recently.
The vessel is operated by the Swiss-based international company MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company), which has included the Port of Riga in its regular container line route.
MSC INGRID arrived at the Port of Riga on the evening of 3 February from the Port of Klaipeda and will be sailing on to the Port of Bremerhaven in Germany in the next few days.
The container vessel was serviced at the berths of the SIA “Baltic Container Terminal”. BCT is the largest and only specialised (container-only) terminal in the Port of Riga. In 2024, BCT was the port's largest stevedoring company, handling 19.3% of all cargo in the Port of Riga.
