Today at the Freeport of Riga container terminal in Kundzinsala the new container train line "Riga – Moscow" will be unveiled.


The container train will run regularly once a week and it will be successful alternative for the road transport in order to reduce congestions on the border with Russia.

The train will carry 82 TEU containers and on the way to Moscow will be for 48 hours. The train will carry Chinese transit cargoes to Russia.

The project of the container train "Riga – Moscow" is the result of collaboration among JSC "TransContainer" (branch enterprise of "Russian railways"), Latvian railway, Freeport of Riga, Ltd "Baltic Container terminal" and Ltd "TFS Trans"
