On Friday, May 22, the German cruise line TUI Cruises’ ship Mein Schiff Relax will arrive at the Port of Riga for the first time. This is the largest cruise ship scheduled for this season, as well as the largest cruise ship ever to call at the Port of Riga.

Given the impressive dimensions of Mein Schiff Relax (length: 333 meters, beam: 42 meters, gross tonnage: 160,000 GT), the ship will be moored at the Krievu Sala berths. The 19-deck cruise liner will bring approximately 4,000 passengers as well as 1,000 crew members to Riga

Mein Schiff Relax is the newest addition to the TUI Cruises fleet, having been commissioned in 2025. The vessel is currently considered one of the most up-to-date cruise ships on the European market, featuring both extensive premium-class leisure and entertainment facilities and sustainable, eco-friendly technical solutions.

The ship will arrive at the Port of Riga around 5:30 a.m. and depart around 8:00 p.m., and its arrival and departure can be viewed from the jetties of the Port of Riga. During the season, Mein Schiff Relax will visit Riga four times.

“The Port of Riga expects a record-breaking cruise season this year, welcoming both more and larger vessels. This growth underscores the Baltic region's appeal and highlights Riga as a premier, year-round destination. Our collaborative marketing efforts with the city are yielding excellent results, proving that our investments are paying off,” emphasized Ansis Zeltiņš, CEO of the Freeport of Riga.

This year, the Port of Riga is planning a record season for cruise ships - a total of 101 cruise ship calls have been registered, which is 21% more than in 2025. It is estimated that approximately 135,000 tourists will arrive at Riga on cruise ships, which is 17% more than last year.

Since Mein Schiff Relax will be calling Riga for the first time, a ceremonial exchange of coats of arms will take place on Friday at 9:00 a.m. on the ship’s deck, with the participation of Riga Mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs and the CEO of the Freeport of Riga Ansis Zeltiņš, symbolically welcoming the ship’s Master and crew on their first visit to Riga.
