For the second year in a row the Freeport of Riga provides its input into international campaign Night of Museums 2013. In the framework of this event more than 220 000 people visited the museums and libraries, government institutions, libraries, theaters, churches, the Riga Zoo, as well as the Freeport Fleet icebreaker VARMA.

Although there are no precise data on how many people attended the ice-breaker, that was built in Finland in 1968, the ice breaker crew reported that a lot of people visited the vessel from 7:00 p.m. till 4:00 on May 18, 22013 from 7:00 p.m. till 4:00, the period available for visits. There might have been even more visitors, but the ice-breaker had to leave the berth to accommodate a cruise ship Costa Pacifica, that brought nearly 4,000 passengers to Riga.

The Freeport of Riga Authority expresses its gratitude to all who were involved in the implementation of the tremendous cultural event, including the organizers of the event, the Freeport of Riga Fleet, the Port police, ice-breaker VARMA crew and visitors.
