During the first eight months of the current year 17,624 MLN tons of cargoes were handled, which is by 7,5% more than during respective period of the last year, when the Freeport handled 16,389 MLN tons.


This year 10,994 MLN tons of bulk cargoes were handled, reaching 13,4% increase if compared to first eight months of 2005, when 9,695 MLN tons were handled.

3,265 MLN tons of liquid cargoes were handled, which is by 38,4% more than within the first eight months of the last year, when 2,360 MLN tons were handled.

During this period the Freeport handled 3,365 MLN tons of general cargoes, which is by 22,4% less than during last year’s respective period, when 4,334MLN tons were handled.

During the first eight months of the current year 175 959 passengers were serviced in the Freeport of Riga, which is by 5,1% more than last year, when 167 404 passengers were serviced. Of those, 68 306 persons were cruise passengers.
