This week, from March 15-18, the Freeport of Riga Authority together with cooperation partners from Riga City Council, LIAA (Investment and Development Agency of Latvia), Investment and Tourism agency of Riga and NĪAA (The Alliance of Real Estate Developers) is participating in MIPIM 2022 - the world's largest real estate exhibition and networking event.
The Riga city stand presents the strategic investment projects of the Port of Riga, including «Spilve Industrial Park» - the industrial park with a total area of 450 ha in Spilve meadows as well as «Riga RoPax Terminal» - the project of a new passenger terminal in the port of Riga.
“The Spilve territory is a strategic national asset with significant potential for new foreign investment, high-paying jobs, innovation and synergies with the port's current infrastructure. Proximity to the port, railway line, labor availability, tax incentives and the size of the area are just some of the territory's benefits,” reported a team of international business consultants from PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), assessing the Spilve site potential. Last year the PwC team carried out site survey on instructions of the Freeport of Riga Authority.
Communicating with investors and potential partners, valuable international contacts for the future cooperation in strategic projects’ development have been established within the framework of the global event.
This year, around 6,400 participants from around the world are taking part in MIPIM, about a quarter of them are international investors.
