During the first six months of the current year 14.369 MLN tons of cargoes have been handled at the Freeport of Riga, which is by 14.1% more than during respective period a year earlier.


By 28.3% has increased the amount of bulk cargoes handled, reaching 9.361 MLN tons, the general cargoes for their part have met decline by 11.1% comparing to respective period a year earlier. Together this year 2.477 MLN tons of these cargoes were handled.

During the first six months by 0.8% increased the handled amount of liquid cargoes. In general this year 2.53 MLN tons of liquid cargoes were handled.

At the Freeport of Riga, of all types of cargoes, coal has been handled the most. This year 6.653 MLN tons of coal have been handled, which is by 35.2% more than last year. This year 2.5 MLN tons of oil products and 1.123 MLN tons of timber have been handled at the Freeport of Riga.

During the half-year period 182 389 passengers were serviced at the Freeport of Riga that is by 14% more than a year ago.
