Due to active maritime traffic the Freeport of Riga is connected to the ports of 50 different countries of the world on all continents. Regular container lines connect the Freeport of Riga with the largest European seaports.
The status of a regular shipping line in the Freeport of Riga is granted for container, Ro-Ro and passenger transportation lines with the aim to facilitate the attraction of the said freight. The advantages of a regular shipping line status include port dues rebates, which are granted for each vessel’s call, depending on the number of calls per year. The procedure for granting the line status and relevant rebates is specified in the “Port Dues of the Port of Riga”.
