Board members and management representatives from the French company Senalia visited the Freeport of Rīga on August 29. Senalia, a cereal products logistics company, operates from the Rouen Port and exports more than 60 percent of the entire French cereal production. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the cereal products market and logistics in the Baltic Sea region: export and import volumes, flows of cereal product cargoes, transhipment volumes and capacities at ports, and the future development prospects of the market.
At the Freeport of Rīga Authority, representatives of Senalia met with Ansis Zeltiņš, CEO, and Edgars Sūna, Marketing Director. The guests were interested in various aspects of the operation of the Rīga Port: land lease terms, distribution of functions between the Authority and the Port’s companies, new projects at the Port and their financing conditions. The range of interests of the French company also included the economic and political relations among the Baltic Sea region countries a well as with Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia countries. After the meeting at the Freeport of Rīga Authority, the guests visited the specialised cereal products loading terminal at the Rīga Port, the company Rīgas ostas elevators.
