Although the opening of the cruise season is months to look forward to, Freeport of Riga is proud of St. Peter Line’s cruise Princess Maria first arrival to Riga in January 6, 2011. As known, the Port of Riga is ice-free harbor, allowing cruise ships to enter also in the winter season.

Princess Maria was built in 1981 and is 168 meters long. Cruise brought to Riga 1409 passengers. For the occasion guests were provided with various tours - not only visiting the Old Town Riga, but also tours to experience other beautiful and diverse cities of Latvia - Sigulda and Jurmala.

Princess Maria cruises between St. Petersburg and Helsinki. For the first time Princess Maria has included Riga in their Baltic tour. Representatives of St. Peter Line admit they would include Riga in their itinerary further on, however, the decision highly depends on the market situation and passenger reviews about Riga.

With Jurij Mundin, the master of Princess Maria, met Freeport of Riga Authority representatives - Marketing Director Edgars Suna and Specialist Laura Apoga - to congratulate ship’s first arrival to Riga and present an emblem of the port as a remembrance gift.
