First arrival of the Vision of the Seas at the Riga port

RoyalCaribbeanJuly 15, 2010 - Vision of the Seas, a four-star cruise ship for the US cruise line Royal Caribbean International, arrived at the Riga port for the first time.

The cruise ship was built in 1998, and cost a total of 275 million US dollars. It spans 279 metres in length and is 16 metres high.

The Vision of the Seas brought 2,193 passengers and 784 crew members to Riga. Its passengers hail from 54 different countries, with the USA, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain and Spain being the most numerously represented.

Viesturs Silenieks, deputy chairperson of the Board of the Riga Free Port Administration, met the captain to welcome the ship’s arrival and to exchange token ensigns.
